NAC is a more stable and bioavailable form of Cysteine, it is a valuable amino acid, and has been highly researched.

NAC has been most recognized for its ability to break up mucus in the lungs making it valuable in treatment of bronchitis.

New research has shown additional benefits due to NAC’s ability to raise glutathione (a powerful antioxidant) levels. Glutathione is one of the main antioxidants the body produces. Glutathione is the body’s natural defense to toxins; most serious chronic diseases deplete your body’s natural glutathione levels.

Supplementing with NAC can regulate and increase your body’s glutathione levels.
See what Dr Oz says about Glutathione here.

Now days one of NAC’s most important roles is plaid as an antidote to acetaminophen overdose. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient found in almost every OTC pain reliever and in high doses it can cause severe liver damage.

Recent research shows indications that NAC may benefit both prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, due to its ability to lower the toxicity and production of beta-Amyloid protein (a suspected cause of Alzheimer).

What kind of results can I expect from supplementing with NAC?

• NAC can prevent liver damage from acetaminophen toxicity
• Rapid liver detoxification
• Decongestion of mucus buildup in lungs also helpful in preventing complications of chronic bronchitis
• NAC has been shown to improve immune function
• NAC will Increase Antioxidant levels
• Memory Support
• Increase nitric oxide levels
• Remove mercury from the body
• Help protect against cancer
• Possibly effective for preventing heart attack and stroke in people with serious kidney disease, and chest pain (angina)
• Reduction of symptoms of the flu

What dosage should I take?

Really since NAC helps support healthy Glutathione levels and increase them in people with deficiencies most people should use this supplement.

There are, however some people that SHOULD NOT USE NAC;
People using Nitroglycerin medication
Anyone already undergoing poison control treatment using activated charcoal

What side effects can I expect?

NAC is like safe for most adults. It can in some cases cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea or constipation.
Rare side effects include rashes, fever, headache, drowsiness, low blood pressure.
